Rains-retreat ending Ceremony
October 20, 2024
At Wat Pasantidhamma, VA
Aok Phansa marks the end of Vassa or the Rains- retreat ending. It ends after the three-months-period of seclusion and study during Rain Retreat which monks have remained in one place. On the last day of the retreat, monks will take time to discuss, counsel, advise, as well as apologize and forgive among themselves. With the restriction on travel lifted, monks are free to travel to other temples and even to their home temples in Thailand.
This is also a day of joyful celebration and merit-making. For many families in Thailand, it is also the day they welcome their son back home after three months of serving as a monk and celebrating his successful completion of a term in the temple.
Wat Pasantidhamma provides the opportunity for you and your family to join us in the ceremony on Sunday, October 20, 2024. :-
